Meet some of the BDRN research team members who are based at both Cardiff University and the University of Worcester.

Professor Ian Jones

Principal Investigator

Ian is Professor of Psychiatry and Honorary Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist at Cardiff University. He is Director of the National Centre for Mental Health.

Professor Lisa Jones

Principal Investigator

Lisa is Professor of Psychological Medicine at the University of Worcester, where she is Principal Investigator of the Mood Disorders Research Group.

Professor Nick Craddock

Principal Investigator

Nick is Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at Cardiff University and Visiting Professor of Psychiatry at Oxford University.

Dr Katherine Gordon-Smith

Senior Research Fellow

Katherine is Senior Research Fellow in Psychological Medicine at the University of Worcester, where she is a senior member of the Mood Disorders Research Group.

Professor Arianna DiFlorio

Professor of Psychiatry

Arianna is Professor of Psychiatry and honorary consultant psychiatrist and is continuing the longstanding work on bipolar disorder genetics.

Dr Katie Swaden Lewis

Research Associate

Katie is a Research Associate at Cardiff University. Her research explores how disruptions to sleep might impact individuals with bipolar disorder.

Dr Amy Perry

Research Associate

Amy is a Research Associate at the University of Worcester, where she is a member of the Mood Disorders Research Group.

Dr Francesca Serra

Honorary Research Fellow in Psychological Medicine

Francesca is a Honorary Research Fellow with the Mood Disorders Research Group, based at University of Worcester.

Holly Pearce

Assistant Research Psychologist

Holly is an Assistant Research Psychologist at Cardiff University, working for both the National Centre for Mental Health and the Bipolar Disorder Research Network.

Emma Tickle

PhD Student

Emma is a PhD student at the University of Worcester, examining the relationship between borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder.
