PhD student Emma Tickle

Emma is a PhD student at the University of Worcester. She started in October 2017 after being awarded a studentship to explore the relationship between borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder.

Emma graduated from the University of Worcester with an undergraduate degree in Psychology with Education Studies. Throughout her time as a student, she also worked as the editor of the university’s psychology newsletter and volunteered at the Infirmary Museum.

In the summer following her degree, Emma worked with the BDRN team as a vacation research assistant, looking at a pilot study investigating public reactions to the Eastenders’ postpartum psychosis storyline, which led to her later pursuing this PhD studentship opportunity.
