We were delighted to give a public lecture at the Hereford University Centre this week. The lecture was very well attended with over 100 attendees and was a great opportunity for Professor Lisa Jones to showcase the important work of BDRN and increase public knowledge of bipolar disorder.
We are extremely grateful to Mike Spiers, one of our BDRN participants, who also came to the event and gave an excellent talk about his own personal experiences of living with bipolar disorder and his views on the importance of participating in research.
We were also joined by Professor Eleanor Bradley from the University of Worcester who talked about her research into shared decision-making and expectations of recovery among services users, their clinicians and family members in adult mental health care settings.
We would like to thank the Hereford University Centre for inviting us to speak at this event and to everyone who came for giving us such a warm welcome.
