BDRN presentation at Mind Your Head York

Professor Lisa Jones was delighted to speak about bipolar disorder and our BDRN research at the University of York on 20th February 2017.  The event was in Mental Illness Awareness Week, part of the Mind Your Head York campaign: http://www.mindyourheadyork.org/

The aim of Mind Your Head York is to promote knowledge and understanding of mental health difficulties and to ensure that every student is able to easily find information, and help shape and access the support that is needed for managing their mental health.

Professor Jones said, “this was a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about bipolar disorder to a relatively young audience.  I was given a very warm welcome by the committed student volunteers who run the campaign at the University of York and work so hard to ensure accurate information about mental illness is disseminated to every student at the University of York”.

The team at Mind your Head York have a collection of personal accounts of experiences of mental health issues and mental illness on their website here: http://www.mindyourheadyork.org/using-film-to-prompt-discussion-of-mental-health/  They are keen to add to this so if any BDRN research participant would like to write a blog post about their experiences for the Mind Your Head York website they would be very welcome.
