What Taking Part In Our Research Involves

How to take part in our research

We would like to hear from individuals who have experienced one or more episodes of high mood (often called mania, hypomania or bipolar disorder) at any time during their life.

What Does Taking Part Involve?

  1. A researcher will usually visit you in your own home and will spend around one hour

asking you about your experiences and the kinds of symptoms you have had in the past.

******

They will leave you with a pack of  questionnaires for you to complete and return to the research team in the SAE.

The questionnaire pack will take between ½ hour and an hour to complete.

******

They will take a small blood sample from your arm.

******

You will receive updates about the progress of the research

in our annual newsletter that we send to all participants.

******

Important Points

Any information you give us is in strict confidence

Although you will not benefit from taking part, your participation will

contribute to an improved understanding of mood disorders in the future.

Why Not Take Part In Our Research

There are many calls and causes in life as a bipolar sufferer

Partaking in the BDRN study is the one “must do” this year.
